I swear, the kid's stuff is going to kill me this month.
The youngest (second grade) needed to write a report on Jesse Owens. The teacher wanted the children to draw a portrait of their assigned famous person of colour. I tried high and low looking for a printable line art of Jesse Owens on-line. Jackie Robinson, Oprah Winfrey, Condalizza Rice, but not Jesse Owens. This is my paltry attempt at "Mommy to the Rescue." Thought I'd share it with all y'all. Materials: Multi-purpose white paper; Dixon No. 2/HB pencil (woohoo. High end stuff here!) Time: About 40 minutes Scanned in on a crappy Cannon CanoScan LiDE 70 at 800 d.p.i. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.
